The Counselor  is a 2013 British-American thriller film directed by Ridley Scott, from the original film screenplay by Cormac McCarthy. The film stars Michael Fassbender as the
eponymous Counselor—who gets in over his head in a drugs deal around the troubled Juarez,
Mexico / Texas border area—as well as Cameron
Diaz Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Brad Pitt. The film deals with themes of greed, death, the
primal instincts of humans and their consequences.
